In the research activity of Prof. Wanda Nowakowska we can emphasize two important fields of science. The first covers research problems of art theory and art criticism. The results of these scientific interests were two important books. The first text was about Stanisław Witkiewicz as an art theorist. The next book was about the Polish art criticism in the second half of the 19th century. Another scientific interest of prof. W. Nowakowska includes broad problems of the history of European painting from Renaissance to the 19th century.
