“The most beautiful moment is the birth of Eve”. Reminiscences about Professor Nowakowska – as seen through the eyes of her student

In the research activity of Prof. Wanda Nowakowska we can emphasize two important fields of science. The first covers research problems of art theory and art criticism. The results of these scientific interests were two important books. The first text was about Stanisław Witkiewicz as an art theorist. The next book was about the Polish art criticism in the second half of the 19th century. Another scientific interest of prof. W. Nowakowska includes broad problems of the history of European painting from Renaissance to the 19th century. This problems cover two other books: Dictionary of European painters (from Renaissance to Impressionism) and an elaboration about women in West European pictures. The characteristic feature of Proffesor’s research is the personal and individual approach to the artefacts.
